Blogging for Better Business: 5 Ideas for Inspiration

Some days, not unlike you, I just don’t want to blog. I have videos tucked away and topics written down. I even have my monthly calls with Coach Ann summarized to use as a blog post when needed. But some days, I don’t want to format it; I don’t want to keyword search it;  REALLY don’t want to do my category, tag and SEO Pack. I could care less about that picture I need to find and I don’t feel like a catchy call to action.  I still ensure I blog! So when you feel like this what can you do?:

1-remember that keeping it short and sweet is a good thing.

2-Use your blog more like a journal and less like a “promotional tool for your business”. People like Seth Godin often blog one or two sentences about things that are obviously on their minds.

3-Write what’s on your mind, versus what you THINK you should write. That’s real. That’s authentic. That’s vulnerable.

4-Write when you are inspired to write, then get them up and date stamp them to go out when you need them to. There are many blogging clubs that help people do this. I even think about starting a live online group- where we write and inspire for an hour every month. I even think about a mastermind group that we brainstorm and write!

5-join my 30 day writing challenge to find inspiration!

Sometimes, I don’t want to blog, but I find the inspiration. How are you finding the inspiration to write your blog and post regularly?

Blogging for Better Business: 4 tips to Increase Traffic

With the blog statistics I shared with you earlier, education or value-based marketing is an important tool to attracting new customers to your business. Blogging is just smart business for driving potential customers to your business! Therefore, implement smart tactics that will help it be even more successful. These tips will get you started increasing your education-based marketing online.

When posting your own Blog remember these tips:

•   Blog regularly. Daily is the optimum goal. At least three times a week is better than only one day a week. Blog visibility increases with regular posting so this is critically important!.

•   Keep your posts short, yet powerful. People, especially busy ones, like short, value-based information that makes them want more. This tip also helps with the first point because if they are shorter it is easier for you to write and post regularly.

•   Pose a powerful question at the end of your blog. Your goal is to get people to comment on what you wrote. Comments are a good thing because it increases your visibility and web traffic. A question tempts them to comment.

•   Make comments open. Too often people “screen” comments by having to approve them. First this is a HUGE time eater as you create yourself more work! Second, don’t be afraid of somebody who disagrees with you. That’s a good thing, not a bad thing and you can actually use it to your marketing advantage.

Next week I will share my tips on commenting on other blogs to grow your business. You don’t even need your own blog to be a blogger!
