Connect 2011 Re-Cap
Less than 2 weeks ago I was surrounded by some amazing business professionals in what I call “my dream come true”! BagLady Promotions started with just a few moms getting together for some friendly conversation in a effort to make some business connections. Fast forward 3+ years later and we are now into our 2nd year of Connect! and planning for year three – Connect! 2012.
Connect! 2011 was held at the Taglyan Complex in the heart of Hollywood. For folks looking to host an event and looking for a venue with charm, superb ammenities, state of the art lighting system and impecable service I recommend the Taglyan! We were very happy with their service. Thanks to our Event Planner Alex from Sterling Engagements for helping us find this gem!
Our day started off with Limos (Superior Limosines) and a fresh cup of coffee from our awesome sponsor – Starbucks! And I have to say – a big thanks to Dominic from the Pico Blvd. location and his staff for all of their efforts! Please stop by his store to say thanks!
That day, alongside my many cups of coffee
, I was delighted to be amongst some of the top bloggers in Los Angeles like Andrea Fellman, Kim Tracy Prince and Adrinne Van Houten. We had exceptional speakers and panalists to include: Jen Levinson, Dayna Landry, Erin Condren, Deborah Rhein, Meg Hall, with moderator Laura Jakobsen of Zookies and Andrea Fellman whom both did an exceptional job! Bravo! Our keynotes… Uh-ma-zing! Ann Evanson as always was spot-on when speaking on the power of connecting and Sarah Shaw of Entreprentte had amazing info about getting your product into the hands of celebrities!
Our honorary guest and one of our top sponsors was Frank Catalano of Canary Voice who spoke to the auience about how we as mompreneurs are the future of the business world! Frank is a huge supporter of Women in Business and Mompreneurs! He was one of the few male entreprenurs amongst a sea of Mompreneurs! Bravo for connecting with us and joining us on this special day!
It was great to see people smiling, buying and supporting one another! Many people ask me …Why Connect? What makes this conference different from any other conference? Well, we are not your typical conference – in fact, going forward it might just be called an event! BagLady Promotions via Connect! and every other event we do, provides the platform for Women in Business to connect and develop actual relationships! We provide you with the opportunity to take what Ann Evanston said and put it into practice. I live by the theory that when seeking sales, referals and additional business, noone is going to buy from you, give you referals or help grow your business UNTIL you connect with them. This conference provides you tools and also the opportunity to implement what you have learned. he attendees of this event also have the opportunity to further connect in a private facebook group. Awesome! We cannot wait to see you next year!
A very special thank you goes out to Lewis of A Cut Above the Rest - A video production team in L.A., for taking the place of and filling in last minute for Momz In The Mix who unfortunately cancelled one week before the event. Please make sure to check out his work. His company name represents his professionalism and expertise. A million thanks Lewis!
And of course thanks to our sponsors and very dedicated Advisory Board for all of their efforts and support in making this event amazing!
